| During their annual meetings, the INFA's board
of directors and general assembly discuss the knowledge syllabus
proposed by the federation.
This syllabus defines all the subject matters a about which
the candidates to the International Passport for Aestheticians
are likely to be questioned. By extension, it sets the clearest
possible boundaries of the professional competency of an
aesthetician; i.e. it determines a "professional profile".
The mastery of the various themes of this syllabus by an
aesthetician testifies that she is an excellent professional.
A profession which stands rigidly in a status quo is bound
to disappear. This is not the case for the profession of
aesthetician, which keeps evolving and embracing new techniques
- leading to the appearance of new jobs, especially in the
fields of support to persons and in the paramedical branches.
All the market studies and inquiries carried out show that
the traditional market of beauty salons is coming to a saturation
point.
Many of these new activities are currently not backed up
by further training modules or supervision. Very often,
the quality of the training proposed leaves to be desired,
what represents a possible danger for the ethics in the
profession.
The International Federation of Aestheticians has prepared
new modules of (further) training to solve this problem.
Their purposes are to ensure a secure development of the
profession (as well as an increase of employment in the
branch). |
